IIT Bombay IIT-B has partnered with TCS, India’s largest IT services company, to develop the country’s first quantum diamond microchip imager. This advanced technology aims to revolutionize the mapping of semiconductor chips by providing non-invasive and precise imaging of magnetic fields, much like an MRI in healthcare
Tata Consultancy Services, a global leader in providing IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has entered into strategic collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay – India’s premier Engineering institute to develop India’s first Quantum Diamond Microchip Imager. This advanced sensing tool is expected to unleash the potential and unlock new levels in the examination of semiconductor chips, even while reducing chip failures and improving the energy efficiency of electronic devices.
Experts at TCS will work with Dr. Kasturi Saha, an Associate Professor at IIT-B to develop the quantum imaging platform in the PQuest Lab. This platform is expected to produce quality control of semiconductor chips for applications in Communications, transportation, developing clean energy, enhancing computing power as well as serving the healthcare industry.
Dr. Kasturi Saha, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT-Bombay, is excited to collaborate with TCS on developing a quantum imaging platform for the non-destructive examination of chips, leveraging IITs extensive expertise in quantum sensing to drive innovation. This collaboration is expected to transform various sectors, including electronics and healthcare, and propel India forward through groundbreaking technologies and products aligned with National Quantum Mission’s Quantum Sensing and Metrology vertical.
